In honor of A Verb for Keeping Warm's sixth anniversary, we've collaborated on this LIMITED-EDITION KIT for a boro-inspired, patchworked, sashiko-embellished Stowe bag (our sewing pattern with Grainline Studio).
The cotton for the fabric in this kit was grown in New Mexico and milled in Japan, then shibori-dyed with natural indigo in Verb's Oakland dye studio — no two dyed pieces are alike, so each bag is inherently one of a kind. The kit includes enough materials for you to patchwork and hand-stitch, however you like, a completely unique small-size Stowe bag.
NOTE: There are no instructions included, as the point is for you to combine these materials in any way you wish! But watch Verb's blog where they'll be posting in the next few days about their process of making the version pictured here! (The sample is sewn in the Midnight colorway.)
INCLUDED IN THE KIT:
- the Stowe Bag sewing pattern
- 100% organic US cotton chambray in your choice of Blue (left) or Midnight (right)
- two pieces of 100% organic US cotton dyed with natural indigo
- one 20-meter hank of 100% cotton Japanese sashiko thread
- two sashiko embroidery needles
